Ruff & Tuff NEV2

A New Breed of Neighborhood Electric Vehicle

At first glance the Ruff & Tuff NEV2 may look like just a hopped up version of your run-of-the-mill golf cart. Three seconds in the driver's seat will tell you it is much, much more. It has a 16 HP all-electric engine, top speed of 25 mph and now for '09, the LSV package at no extra charge. Plus, the NEV2 qualifies for both the 50% state income tax and $4,234.72 federal income tax credits to boot.

The Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (EESA) offers a tax credit for qualified plug-in electric vehicles of $2,500 PLUS $417 for every kilowatt hour in excess of 4KW. The NEV2, NEV4 and EV2 all have an 8.10 Kilowatt Hour Capacity. Based on this formula, the tax credit can be calculated as follows:
$2,500+($417x7.04)=$4,234.72 Credit
